Should i get 50mm f/1.8G AF-S or Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR?

I can't decide. Please post some of your sample photos using these lenses, or just post the link. I like taking portraits and landscape. Is it okay to buy refurbished lenses?
