Can my Nikon lens, be used for other Nikon cameras?

I have a Nikon D3100 DSLR and am looking into a Nikon F3. They are pretty expensive and I can only find "body only" ones. So instead of spending the money for another lens for that, I was wondering if my d3100 lens would fit and work... 18-55mm Nikko VR. Thanks!
