Will my situation change at McDonald's?

I was recently hired to work at a local McDonald's. On my first training day they had me looking at videos. Today, I finished the videos and as I went up to the supervisor I realized they had no idea where to place me. I literally stood in the kitchen doing nothing for a few minutes until another supervisor had a crew member help me with making hash browns. That's all I did today. What bugs me is that another girl who was also hired and started the same day I did didn't watch videos, and yesterday as well as today she worked the register. Maybe she has more experience, I don't know, but I still think the way they are dealing with me is unprofessional. I am not familiar with the McDonald's menu and maybe that's what my problem is. I think that they shouldn't hire someone if they don't want to teach them. All employees had a snotty attitude towards me. Will my situation change?
